Powder coating is a modern finishing process widely used to protect and enhance metal and other conductive surfaces across industrial, architectural, and consumer applications. Known for its durability, efficiency, and environmental advantages, powder coating has become one of the fastest-growing coating technologies in North America. Automatic Coating Limited (ACL) specializes in advanced powder coating systems that deliver long-lasting protection, consistent quality, and superior performance in demanding environments.
Defining Powder Coating
Powder coating is a dry finishing process that applies finely ground particles of resin and pigment to a surface using an electrostatic charge. Unlike traditional liquid paints, powder coatings contain no solvents. Once applied, the coated component is cured under controlled heat, causing the powder to melt, flow, and chemically bond into a continuous, durable finish.
This curing process results in a uniform coating that resists corrosion, abrasion, chemical exposure, and ultraviolet degradation far more effectively than many conventional finishes.
